1989: Dawn of Freedom is a 2 player game simulating the political, social and economic aspects of the period about 1989 when democratic change brought about the collapse of the Soviet Union. One player represents the USSR, and attempts to prop up the Warsaw Pact governments with things other than tanks in the streets as social pressures force change. The other player represents the western nations, the so called forces of democracy, who seek to create discontent and change which hurts the Soviet cause. 2 countersheets, 162 cards, 1 map.
