- Tarot is used for a wide variety of functions including fortune telling, self-reflection, alignment with your higher self,spirit channeling, and all sorts of creative acts. - The deck is so called because its art is reproduced as it was first released in December 1909 by a publisher named Rider. It was created by occultist Arthur Edward Waite who hired fellow Golden Dawn member and artist Pamela Colman Smith to illustrate his vision.The Golden Dawn was a secret magical society. The London sect placed Tarot at the center of their occult experiments that included ritual magic, astral travel, scrying, astrological divination, and other paranormal exercises.
- More important than everything else,the Original i9o9 was the first deck to illustrate the Minor Arcana with pictorial scenes connected to the meaning of the card. In time,this deck became the milestone for all modern Tarot, unlocking the possibility of reading the cards not just relying on esoteric knowledge,but rather with intuition. Thanks to this, Tarot pecame usable by everyone, and turned away from fortune-telling in favor of spiritual, magical and psychological work.
