Description
- Sodium polyacrylate is an active ingredient in astronauts 'maximum absorbency garments", fire-control gels, and soil conditioners. The super absorbent polymer will grow when you add water and disposable diapers. The compound can absorb a lot of water.
- Add water to desired slushy consistency. For slushier water storage gel, add more water. For "drier" gel, add less water.
- For colorful slushier gel, add food coloring to the water first. Just a few drops will go a long way.
- Sodium Polyacrylate Diapers Polymer, sodium acrylate, can absorb over 600 times its weight in water! That's about equivalent to an average adult being able to suddenly absorb the weight of a blue whale, about 40,000 pounds!
- Undo the physical reaction: When you add salt to the polymer water mixture, it starts to suck up the water and release it from the polymer. Super cool.
- SAFE, NOT TOXIC. A USA CPSC-accepted lab tested it in the U.S., and the results complied with the ASTM F963-17 & the CPSIA. See the image for the test report.
